The kannada movie is titled “varnavedam” where in, the word “ varna “ means “colour” and the word “vedam” means “ethics / principles”, together “varnavedam” stands for ethics / principles of colours.. In other perception heroine’s character name in the movie is “varna” and hero’s character name in the movie is “veda”… how “varna” and “veda” fall for eternal love depicts “varnavedam” . The movie varnavedam revolves in and around the colour of love, life and nature.

The story begins with colour festival eve on holi celeberation, hundreds of people are gathered in a huge corridor for a celeberation. Young girls in the family, ladies, boys, men are drenched in colours, people are throwing and sprinkling colours on each other, which makes it difficult to recognize any one in the celeberation as everybody’s face is smeared in colours… as the celeberation is through, all of a sudden, a stranger who is physically well built appears with his associates, rushes inside the house premises compound corridor in rage, to disguise himself, the stranger steals the colour from the plate and applies it to his face. His associates also imitate him. An eccentric guy’s eyes are wandering for someone in the crowd, finally his eyes lands on a girl who is engaged in holi celeberation with her friends and family. He and his associates rush towards her.

All of sudden, truculent guy enters the compound corridor in a hurry, a group of people from the crowd throw the colours on his face and they disappear, his face becomes unrecognizable. Eccentric guy eagerly searching for some one in the crowd, his eyes notice a girl, immediately he rushes towards that girl with rotten mentality. Truculent guy follows eccentric guy’s view point, he quickly understands his motive and he picks and throws water baloons loaded with color and tries to divert his focus off the girl, when the eccentric guy almost nearing to that girl ,tries to take out one bottle from his back pocket at the same time, truculent guy keeps throwing the balloons at him which splashes on him, that makes his bottle to slip from his hand and fall on the ground. It gets broken into pieces, liquid inside the bottle spills all over the ground and it stars melting the ground. The crowd gets frightened and stunned, everybody is focussed over the eccentric guy, the truculent guy stands opposite to him and that leads them to fight each other… in the fight the eccentric guy succeeds in stabbing the girl from his dagger and disapperas in the crowd…

Medhansh an enthusiastic photographer organizes a powder art photoshoot with his college mate gorgeous and charming part time model and a hotel management student varna who is the heroine of a movie, veda supplied the colors for the shoot, he meets varna for the very first time. The very first meet of varna and veda turns unpleasant that draws a bad impression on each other and it grows gradually between them.

Varna and veda’s common friend aarohi invites veda to lead her college’s farewell celeberation to showcase distinctive musical performance, but on that day varna skived off the performance, that triggered anger and misery in the team upon her, but veda outstrips the situation, his performance steals everyone’s heart of the students gathered over there, even varna gets flabbergasted by veda’s performance. As the time flies varna and veda gradually turn as love birds.

One day when varna was about to get her moped at college campus, prayaag tumbe son of tumbe talagvar who is infamous advocate for criminal intelligence in legal world. Prayaag tumbe arrives in a ferrari car, he maltreats varna, he is trying to smash varna’s fingers inbetween car body and window, veda arrives rapidly, conversation between them creates a friction, situation heats up veda beats and warns prayaag tumbe and his associates to stay out of varna’s vicinity.

After rescuing varna while walking together in campus corridor veda snoops her about the guy who attacked. Varna takes a breath slowly reveals the truth that what had occurred on holi celeberation day.

“prayaag was dating my dear friend ridhi who is the daughter of circle inspector chandrakanth , both were in a deep relationship. One fine day ridhi realized that prayaag was a big coquette and has ruined many girls lives. Ridhi gets suffocated with emotional damage, after many counselling sessions, she overcomes her situation and bravely decides to expose prayaag tumbe’s misdeeds. She approaches acclaimed television channel daily soap emotional atyaachaar officials. Later ridhi conclusively exposes prayaag tumbe’s grotesque face. Prayaag tumbe tagged with blemished image, he decides to take revenge and mangle ridhi’s face on holi celeberation day. He almost succeeds to fling acid on ridhi’s face, but an anonymous truculent guy defeat prayaag’s brutal attempt, but prayaag succeeds to stab ridhi. Ridhi”s father chandrakanth takes written complaint from me against prayaag tumbe, that’s the reason he was here to strike his vengeance against me”.

Veda’s grin surprises varna, curiously questions him with raised voice what was sounding funny !… Veda controls his thought flow, slowly he explicits his part in the flash back which varna expressed in series of incidents… varna gets startled and feels blissfull knowing that truculent guy was veda himself… two hearts are smitten while recalling incidents both hearts are melting slowly, their love season kicksoff tenderly…

As time rolls their love gets seasoned, a thunderstorm whips in their love life.
Varna and veda while shopping previous day of new year eve varna discloses veda”s deficiency. She felt her fidelity upon him has ruptured and she walks away from him with bleeding heart.

A quick snip in their love story a convolution diverts prayaag tumbe with his father tumbe talagvaar approaches lakshmikanth kattimani who is eminent oil merchant in the state for his daughter varna with his son prayaag wedding proposal. But the marriage proposal breaks apart by knowing the truth about prayaag tumbe’s brutal complexion. Lakshmikanth kattimani denies the proposal, tumbe talagvaar feels like his caliber is exasperated that leads him to take revenge on both varna’s father lakshmikanth kattimani and veda’s father rajendra nayak. None of the advocates in the state has the courage to fight against tumbe talagvar.

The story of Naanu Mattu Gunda deals with a relatioinship between Shankara, his wife Kavitha and a dog named Gunda. Shankara a middle class man from a town, leading a decent life with his wife. Due to medical reasons, Kavita is not able to conceive a baby. One fine day, Shankara finds a dog in by chance in his auto rickshaw.
